Severe lag?

What is happening, i just timed a chat message with my phone, it took 15 seconds for it to appear, crafting, moving and other stuff is also having problems. i thought it was just me, but someone else logged on and was complaining about it, the /tps is showing almost 20, and i'm not running heavy machines, was just me and one other person online at that moment

i had logged off at noon, my island seemed perfectly fine, normal fps, no lag. i log back on at i think 530ish (5 1/2 hours later) and this... i truly don't understand

yea I'm having the problem as well, pretty sure it's to do with the new year thing going on. its dropping my fps to zero at the start of every hour and then i have to restart my game to get it going again

Probably most lag is due to where the server is hosted in Canada. For me at least it has to route through 1 hop that is 400 ping which causes me unplayable lag.
